The Norwegian automobile fleet is being electrified at an unparalleled speed, by means of a powerful set of fiscal instruments. The report calculates the price of carbon implicit in each instrument. Norwegian automobile owners and users face a total carbon price exceeding 1250 euros per ton of CO2. For light commercial vehicles and heavy duty freight vehicles, respectively, the corresponding prices are estimated at around 500 and 200 euros per ton of CO2.
