The research project “Security and mobility throughout the day” has had as its main purpose to use new data sources to map the public's actual risk and experiences of insecurity in Oslo's streets. We have gathered information about perceived insecurity using a web-based map survey. We have developed and tested a mobile application to learn about the public's experiences in various parts of the city. We have also collected data from the cellular network to study mobility patterns, as well as criminal records to study the spatial and temporal distribution of crime. The project was organized in separate work packages for each data type and this report summarizes the main findings from the project.
