The RETRO transport model (REgional TRansport for the Oslo region) consists of submodels for driver’s licences, car ownership, trip frequencies, destination and mode choice. It is integrated with an assignment model. The model is estimated on data from a travel survey for Oslo and Akershus from 1990. It has been calibrated for the year 1995. In the calibration process, the number of zones in the model has been aggregated to 39, and consistency between travel costs and traffic volumes on all relations between these 39 zones is secured by use of a network model.
