Production models and cost functions for permanent supply chains and single consignments

Cost functions with a wide range og applications can be derived from structural relations common to all production of transport services. For example, these cost functions lead to new methods of evaluating the user benefits to firms from quicker and more reliable transport. This note documents the theoretical work in the project «Values of time in freight transport», financed by The Norwegian Research council under the PROTRANS programme.
