Objective for the study has been to analyse the potential for regional, national and international freight hubs in Nordland and South-Troms. The main focuses are on analysis of regional and export freight flows and the potential for container transport of general cargo, fish and fish products from the county. A national network model for freight transport (NEMO II) has been central in the analysis. The results show that there is a potential for freight transport to end from freight hubs at a proportion of 4,9 mill tons of general cargo, fish and fish products. The freight flows are distributed with 2,4 mill tons regional goods in Nordland and South-Troms, 0,8 mill tons to South-Norway and 1,7 mill tons for export. For a container line with two departures a week and a container share of 30 % there is goods potential in Helgeland, and Salten. With only one departure a week there is potential for a container line from Helgeland, Salten, Ofoten og South-Troms.
