Sammendrag

In the Norwegian Travel Survey 2009, 11 percent reported having temporary (2 percent) or permanent (9 percent) physical difficulties that limit their possibility to travel and to use various transport modes. Those who have permanent difficulties stand out from those without such difficulties in that they are older, their share of women is higher, they are to a greater degree retired, permanently disabled or on long-term sick leave. In addition they have less access to automobiles, and their travel activity is lower both on a daily basis and for longer trips. Poor accessibility and problems with boarding/leaving are the most important obstacles to the use of public transport.
