This report presents the results of the Norwegian foreign visitor survey 2008 for the winter season (January-April), the emphasis is thus on ski tourists. In the winter season 2008 a total of nearly 1,15 million foreign guests stayed overnight in Norway. This is an increase by nine per cent from the winter season 2007. Business travel from abroad showed a 15 per cent increase, whereas the increase in the number of holiday guests was six per cent, measured by arrivals. The total number of foregin guest nights in the winter season 2008 is a total of nearly 6,2 million, an increase by seven per cent from 2007. The relative share of guest nights in hotels is decreasing, whereas the share of guest nights in cabins shows an increasing trend.
