Norwegian public transport has undergone changes during the covid-19 pandemic. This report presents statistics from the period 2019 to 2023. Our main reading of these data is that although the number of passengers has returned to pre-pandemic levels, the revenue has not. To compound this economic challenge, the operating costs of public transport has increased above inflation whereas the revenue has fallen way short of inflation. To maintain the level of service the regional authorities have increased their spending on public transport.
