Living Conditions in Kristiansand. Before the construction of a new highway system

In December 1997 417 respondents from 16 areas of Kristiansand were interviewed about their opinion on neighbourhood quality and road traffic. The study shall function as a benchmark study for the condition before the building of a main highway system through Kristiansand starts. This working report describes briefly the different areas of the town and the method used for the interviews. Then it presents the results in terms of the residents' view on among other things neighbourhood quality, noise, air pollution and visual aestethics. As a supplement to this report another report with more thorough multivariate analysis of the connection between objective measures and peoples responses will be produced.
