The joint project ” Buskerud conurbation” aims to develop a future-oriented land use, transport and climate policy for the Drammen – Kongsberg area of Norway. This will be achieved through collaborative efforts amongst the municipal and regional interests in developing an overall, binding and coordinated land use and transport policy. This will contribute to reduce car dependency, car use and greenhouse gas emissions while at the same time improving the efficiency of commercial transport and facilitating the development of attractive cities and towns.
The Institute of Transport Economics (TØI) has been commissioned to develop the knowledge base for this work, and to suggest an overall land use and transport concept for a competitive and climate friendly development. This also includes a regional public transport concept. An important part of the work has been to suggest steps and tasks for further studies and planning.
