The report gives the results of registrations of interaction and conflicts between cyclists on a cycle path and intersecting car drivers in the intersection between Sørkedalsveien and Morgedalsvegen in Oslo. The registrations show that conflicts tend to arise in situations where the car driver normally looks for intersecting traffic from another direction than where the cyclist comes. The results show that conflicts have been markedly reduced from 1997 to 2001. This may be a result of the bicycle campaigns that the Norwegian Public Roads Administration has conducted. It can, however, also be a result of other factors, for instance that road users have been more accustomed to this particular intersection over time.
