Sammendrag

Factors that have contributed to the decline in the number of killed or seriously injured road users in Norway after 2000 are identified. The three most important factors are the trend towards lower speed, safety treatments of roads and safer cars. Other contributing factors include increased seat belt wearing and a decline in the number of injured children. The factors that have been identified explain 59% (54%; 64%) of the decline in the number of killed or seriously injured road users in Norway after 2000.
