Evaluation of the public transport package of measures 2000 in Hedmark, the SMAT-project

The Norwegian Ministry of Transport and Communications supported in 2000 a package of combined measures in Hedmark County. Most of the measures in this package have been brought out to improve the infrastructure at five railstations in the Hamar region as well as installation of an electronic route information system at the stations. TØI has evaluated the effects of the measures. Results are mainly positive, especially regarding improvements of parking spaces, bicycle parking, bus stops, and not least, the aesthetic improvements of the station areas.
