Tourism in Suldal is experiencing growth, as evidenced by increased employment and a higher number of overnight stays. Since the previous ripple effect analysis in 2019, the number of full-time equivalents in the tourism sector has increased by 22, corresponding to approximately 11%. This is a significant increase, likely exceeding the growth in the working-age population. There has also been a rise in the number of overnight stays, particularly within the Airbnb segment. The number of guest nights through Airbnb has nearly doubled, from around 5,600 in 2019 to approximately 11,000 in 2024, including some rentals via Finn.no. There may have been a shift between platforms, but the data has been checked for double counting. In total, overnight stays have increased by 8,000 since the previous analysis. Comparison with the 2019 report is challenging, as it lacks a clear methodological description and does not specify whether figures include VAT.
