Sammendrag

The objective of the project has been to summarise foreign recommendations about how intersections in cities should be designed to secure good conditions for bicyclists, pedestrians and public transport. A total of 59 guidelines and handbooks from nine countries have been examined. Comparison of recommendations from Norway and the included countries shows that the recommendations in most situations are consistent. However, it is possible to prioritise bicyclists more in the Norwegian handbooks. In addition, more measures in intersections for especially bicyclists and pedestrians exist that have not yet been tried out in Norway or included in Norwegian handbooks. These measures should be demonstrated and evaluated in Norway.
