The cost benfit analysis is considering a project of deepening the entrance to the Port of Drammen through a narrow S-shaped sailing entrance. The sailing depth will increase from 8,5 meter to 10,5 meter if the project is completed. The Cost of the project is 32 to 26 mill NOK depending on the design of the project. identified benefits of the project are reduced tuboat assistance of bigger ships carrying new cars from abroad, serving the oiltanks in the port and future benefits from container service to and from the Port of Drammen. The project has been calculated a cost benefit ratio of 1,08 which supposes the project is viable.
