Sammendrag

The purpose of the project has been to examine whether central approach cycle lanes improve conditions for cyclists in urban intersections and to assess whether the measure should be included in relevant Norwegian manuals. The project is based on field studies in six intersections in Oslo as well as on a literature review of foreign studies and recommendations. The studies show that central approach cycle lanes are likely to improve conditions for cyclists. Thus, it is recommended to use the measure to a greater extent than is the case today.
